To let the community find out more about this amazing project we gathered some questions and let the Cardstack Team answer them. So let’s move on to this AMA Recap:
- Could you shortly introduce your project?
Cardstack is the collaborative OS for Web3, focused on building together, earning together, working together, and playing together. We are building a decentralized software ecosystem to provide open-source tools and a user-friendly experience that make blockchain technology not only usable, but scalable. This is a leap forward for blockchain at every layer of the software stack, as these tools unlock the potential of the decentralized Internet for everyone.
2. How does your project help build software for inexperienced users?
Our software works to empower inexperienced users by simplifying the dApp building process. Currently, it’s much too difficult to build apps. This is why we have placed composability at the center of our project. Our composable software infrastructure allows users with little or no coding experience to build robust applications, using digital blocks that can be combined into one set of inter-mixable building blocks, like digital Lego blocks. This idea of mixing and matching is what Cardstack’s UI engine is all about. Users can assemble content and data schema (different types of data) by simply dragging and dropping.
3. How do you differ from your competitors?
Web2 apps are siloed. They can’t interact with each other, which means that users have to use many different apps each day to get their daily workflows done — all with their own logins and subscription costs. Furthermore, creators are not compensated fairly on these platforms, as the platforms themselves take a huge cut of their money. Meanwhile, most Web3 dApps are very difficult to use. The user experience in Web3 can really be described as one big headache. Cardstack is building the foundation for a truly interactive, collaborative, and decentralized ecosystem, where everybody is rewarded fairly for their work — while offering a user experience that is extremely simple, straightforward, and user-friendly.
4. Could you tell us more about DeFi payments with Card Pay?
When it comes to decentralized payments, DeFi is facing some big challenges these days, with high fees making blockchain transactions extremely expensive and crypto as a whole still being very obscure and therefore difficult to understand. That’s why Cardstack has introduced Card Pay — a payment and reward network to make crypto payments not only cheaper (through layer-2 technology), but easy to use for regular people every day. Offering both a Web dApp and a mobile app, Card Pay combines cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and other types of innovative smart-contract-backed DeFi instruments with a user-friendly UI. Thereby, it gives users without crypto knowledge the opportunity to make practical day-to-day payments in a decentralized way, while benefiting from a fun, smooth, and cohesive user experience.
5. What are the future plans for Cardstack?
Cardstack aims to open the doors to Web3 for everyday people. Or user-friendly tools will enable everyone (not just developers) to build open-source software, while our easy-to-use payment protocol will enable crypto fans as well as crypto newbies to make fast, easy, and cheap blockchain transactions. Ultimately, anyone will be able to build apps, create content, and get paid in decentralized ways — no coding or crypto experience required.
